Bays & Bullseye's

We hit both the South and North bays this weekend, trying to escape the fog and find something interesting to visit. Street fair season must be over, and there doesn’t seem to be much going on in the City (well, that is of interest to both of us!). Saturday we drove down to Half Moon Bay, with an attempt on the drive to visit the Pulgas Water Temple (nah, we weren’t that thirsty, though we had been out late on Friday taking in a show at Red Devil Lounge…) The temple was erected to commemorate the 1934 completion of the Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct. Anyway, it looked pretty cool, but we were only able to see it from the parking lot as there was a wedding that had closed it down for the day. Yeesh. How Rude.

So, we continued on to Half Moon Bay, which was a lovely drive. Did a little shopping on the cute Main Street, and ended up at a mall. Yes, a mall that happens to be connected to my favorite store. Can you guess which one?

Sunday we headed across the Golden Gate to Sausalito. A client had told me on Friday about a restaurant there called Fish. It was awesome. Probably the best fish & chips I’ve had – ever. We strolled along Sausalito’s Main Street as well, and then ended up at Best Buy to get a deal on a new memory card (okay, Best Buy isn’t in a mall, but similar enough). Yep, we’re creatures of habit, but we did enjoy the sun!

“Charlie Day” Afternoon!

Finally, I got my dog day at the park. We had a picnic with Charlie today. Oh, and Armel and Paul were there, too. I might just talk Keith into smuggling a dog in our apartment yet, look how cute!

I believe I won the "Charlie-looks-most-like-me" contest. Um, hello - same fabulously messy hair! Similar taste in fashion! If only he could wear shoes.

In other news, we’ve got some fun travel planned for September. Labor Day will be spent in Guerneville, which is on the Russian River about 75 miles Northwest from San Francisco. We found a cabin to rent, and guess who’s joining us because it’s pet friendly? Charlie! (Oh, and Armel and Paul, too) The cabin looks great, has a hot tub, bbq and is right in the heart of some lovely redwoods. We’re looking forward to it already!

Also on the agenda for September is a trip to Las Vegas at the end of the month. This will be a “check out the hotels and venues” trip for our wedding. Date is September 15, 2007, in case you hadn’t heard… and of course, the date is pending availability once we find that “perfect spot”. Stay tuned (but not too tuned) for our Save the Dates. We’re not going traditional with this, would you expect anything less? Anyway, got a great deal on Travelocity and will be staying at the ultra-chic THEhotel at Mandalay Bay.

Hope you are having a terrific weekend, and enjoying the last bit of summer. Which reminds me, don’t a few of you owe us a visit?

Charlie's a little Angel

We had the best weekend with my lil' sis from WSU, Angela, and her fiance, Bart. But, those pics will have to wait as I forgot the camera all weekend. Duh. Angela is going to send her photos, and shortly I'll update on what a great weekend was had by all...

In the meantime, our friends Armel & Paul stopped by this evening with the newest addition to their family, Charlie. What a complete doll. I fell in love immediately, and we will be hoping to add a cousin soon to the family for him to play with. Well, that is, after we both stop working such ridiculous hours, I stop traveling so much, and most importantly, we live in a building that accepts pets! [Ed. note to my nephew Charlie: Honey - I am so sorry about the "green eye"... I was able to get my "red eye" to go away, but couldn't get yours to be gone. Next time, baby, don't ham it up for the camera so much... Auntie Jill promises a better second pic next weekend at our play date! You're too cute, I love you, Charlie!]
