Best in Show

In keeping with our animal-themed weekends of late, we hit the dog show this weekend. Didn’t quite know what to expect, but there were a lot of breeds I’d never even heard of… we might go back next year. Definitely not as action-packed or as exciting as the rodeo (held at the same place, in just a few months!). My favorite “ring” was the Lhasa Apsos, and here is a pic of the best in breed. So cute!

Not a whole lot else going on around San Francisco, I guess next weekend we’ll just be trying to get out of that whole soccer game thing that happens at the end of January. Or is it football? Whatever… we’ll definitely not be watching TV (but we might Tivo the commercials!).

Happy Feet!

No, we haven’t seen the movie… but did visit the Steinhart Aquarium / California Academy of Sciences today and saw some penguins. Oh, and I wore sensible shoes for all that walking around, so it was happy feet indeed. Keith must have had a dinosaur set or something when he was young, because he knew the names of ALL the models (before reading the tags – I think!). We tried to watch the penguins get fed, but I had read my watch wrong and thought it was 3:30 (feeding time) and in actuality, it was 2:30. Oops. I do think they were hungry though, as they pretty much stared into these little openings for the 15 minutes we sat there. We also saw a cute little turtle!

I was in New York last week for a work event. A quick trip and I was so glad to get home on Friday! Keith got a lot accomplished while I was gone, but could hardly wait for me to return to bring him some new clothes from our favorite store that always has super sales in January – Mexx. See sweater above. Every time we or I am in there, we bug them about when an outlet is opening in San Francisco, and get the same answer, “a year or so.” They’ve been saying that for at least 3 years. Guess I’ll believe it when I see it.

Happy 2007!

We rang in the New Year at Levende Lounge - no bottle service required! They had a small party, and yes there was a cover, but it allowed for free-flowing Piper Heidsieck and yummy appetizers all night. Our friend La Dona spearheaded the festivities, as she knows the owners well and you had to know someone to get invited. We had a blast.

I think the reason I haven't posted for so long is the Keith's fault. For Christmas, he got me a Kitchenaid mixer. It’s the best new addition since our Tassimo! I just can’t stay out of the kitchen, mixing, blending, baking… and that, my friends, is not something I thought I would ever say. My office has been shocked that I've actually brought in cookies more than once this year (yeah, yeah, it's been a short year so far, but I'm above my 2006 cookie quota already!)

Lots of parties and events throughout December made it a whirlwind of a month. January is a little tamer, thankfully, but we’re still in the throes of trying to find a wedding reception location. I can’t believe how lazy these people are about calling us back. We found this great place down on the waterfront, met with the owner, and have still been waiting for 3 1/2 weeks for a call back and a quote. Certainly not how I run my sales department. Wish us luck, it’s a very cute place and just kind of “perfect”… Howard the mini thinks so too.

We hope your New Year is off to a great start!
